What is a Distillation Column?

A distillation column is a tall vertical vessel equipped with internal trays or structured packing, used to separate components in a liquid mixture based on differences in their boiling points. Heat is applied to vaporize the mixture; the rising vapors and descending condensates interact inside the column to allow fractional condensation and separation.

  • High-Quality Construction Materials Fabricated from SS 304, SS 316, Duplex SS, Hastelloy, or Carbon Steel based on the chemical compatibility and operating pressure-temperature conditions.
  • Precision Fabrication Columns are CNC-machined for flange, nozzle, and manway accuracy. All dimensional tolerances verified with digital verniers and micrometers.
  • Robust Shell and Support Design Pressure-rated vertical shells with support skirts or saddles for easy integration into distillation systems.

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • All welds undergo Dye Penetrant (DP) Testing, Radiographic Testing (RT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) where applicable.
  • PMI (Positive Material Identification) is carried out on raw materials to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing to verify vessel strength and leakproof integrity.
  • Inspections done in-house or by certified third-party agencies with complete documentation.
